Many in the area fondly remember the Granite Lake Store in the heart of Munsonville, New Hampshire. For some, the store’s proximity to the bus stop allowed it to serve as before and after school care for their children. For others, it provided a convenient place to pick up milk or bread on their way home.
Maya Trudelle King, a lifelong Nelson resident, is hooked on crochet work. Crochet is a process of creating textiles by using a crochet hook to connect loops of yarn. Unlike knitting, each stitch is completed before the next is begun, and eventually the interlocking loops create a beautiful work of art.
It was the third week of July and it was still raining. The nonstop precipitation made it difficult to distinguish one storm from another, at least until the lightning strike that firmly planted this tempest into memory. The brilliant electric blue light filled the sky at precisely the same time as the deafening crash.
