This is a presentation from Lisa Murphy, a senior planner with Southwest Region Planning Commision. She will provide information about the official documents that are used by towns for planning and zoning, including the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Regulations, and Master Plan, and the role of the Planning Board in developing and maintaining those documents. She will also discuss the role of land use boards (Planning and Zoning), especially with a focus on what is appropriate for a small town like Nelson.

Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in Parks and Recreational Resources, and a master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University in Urban Studies with a concentration in city planning.  She has an expansive range of experience in municipal planning including, municipal master plans and ordinances, site plan review, wetlands and code enforcement, resource protection, and emergency management.

The meeting will be held in the lower level of the Olivia Rodham Memorial Library, with an option to move to the Town Hall if the attendance, shortly before start time, indicates that is necessary.
