Nelson In Common Update February 23, 2022

Wind over Nubanusit ~ video from Phoebe Hart

Greetings From Priscilla

Priscilla Walter has asked us to use this week’s update to express her thanks for all the people that came to visit her, sent cards, etc. in honor of her 99th birthday on February 10th. Though the occasion is past, she notes that the visitor traffic continues – and she’s not complaining.

Memory and “Collecting Roses in Winter”

Linda Singer treats us to another piano-serenaded slide show of her great photos, and a lovely essay that is perfect for the season.

Read, look, and listen! . . .

Hey readers – Linda will be taking a well deserved break from her monthly column in March. Perhaps one or more of you would like to write about winter gardening or landscaping? The parameters are quite wide. Photos are useful.  Let us know soon:

Store for a Day

Remembrances of the Granite Lake Store have remained vivid, and now inspire a celebration being planned for this summer.

See what’s in store . . .

Civic Engagement

There are several municipal meetings coming up (it’s that time of year).

Please check in closer to events to find out what safety protocols will be in place for each meeting.

After some rather sparse months, we are anticipating our Events Calendar is going to start seeing some more activity.

You can see the first few upcoming events on the homepage, or for a complete list, visit the Events Page.

Artisan Crafts Fair

One event that we’ll call your attention now is the Artisan Craft Fair, on the Common on June 25. That seems like a ways off, but if you are thinking about exhibiting, now is the time to get in contact. Click here for details . . .

Maple Musings

With sugaring season upon us, we have poems from Chris Blaudschun and John Wengler which address this sticky topic.

Tap into the verse . . .

Visit the Home Page for more good stuff!
