Nelson in Common provides an events calendar on this website, which is available for listing any Nelson-based events that are open to the public (this can include any meetings or events on Zoom which are from Nelson-based organizations).
Calendars have been starved of information over the last many months, and it is exciting to see events starting to return. Looking ahead most immediately we see that The Chapel By The Lake is sponsoring a Breakfast coming up on June 19. Later in July look for a yard sale there. And on the Common, an Artisan fair on June 26, sponsored by the Nelson Congregational Church See the calendar, or scroll below, for details on all these.
Since there will be a tent set up on the Common for Town Meeting (July 17), Maury Collins is organizing a coffeehouse for that evening at 6:30. That way the event (like town meeting itself) can take place regardless of weather. This event will be unplugged – no electricity, which should add to the charm and keep the volume down. Bring your own chairs, for this year this fills in for what is usually an Old Home Week event. Call Maury (603-313-3321) if you’d like to perform.
Still a lot to restore in the coming months. Apple Hill is sticking with virtual concerts for their summer series. The Monadnock Folklore Society is working on some ideas for fall concerts – still too early to predict when the close-contact sport of Contradancing will resume.
Meanwhile, Nelson In Common has an event of our own to tell you about. It’s our annual meeting – the first in recent memory – on August 21. In future years this will be completely open to the public, but since it is still difficult to plan logistics for large gatherings, our attendance will be limited to 50 pre-registered guests. This will include a short business meeting, but also be a potluck and time to visit with friends and neighbors. If you’d like to attend, click here for more information and a link to registration.
Many more events will surface in the coming weeks, and while we’ll try to highlight them here, the simplest thing is to regularly visit the Events page and see what’s new.
If you have an event to list, it’s as easy as sending us an email (newsletter@nullnelsonincommon.org).
We look forward to seeing you soon.
